An overview of the activities and results of research projects in biomedical engineering, that constitute an integral part of the EC medical research programme on devices and instruments for biomedical applications. The contributions are grouped in three sections: diagnostic methods and monitoring (including imaging), treatment and rehabilitation, and technical and clinical evaluation.
