The weakness of the cotton future market dampened buying enthusiasm in nearly all New England cotton consuming centers during the past week or ten days, and particularly was the last half of this week devoid of trading activity. There was no lack of interest in quotations, and in some quarters of the market, especially those using extra staple cotton, dealing took place in moderate quantities.
