The Purple Creek sample was taken only 30 meters or so upstream from Lake Chelan. High bacteria counts indicate possible sewage effluent seepage into the stream. It is recommended that drinking water from this source continue to be chlorinated. Monitoring of Coliform bacteria levels in Purple Creek will continue.
