Mouse and Dragon by Ian T. Walker is a collection of fourteen stories for young adults with love and compassion as the underlying theme. They were originally written as adjuncts to Walker’s Lilly and Ian, Mouse and Dragon book, published by Partridge Singapore, which is a love story. Lilly has the astrological star sign of a mouse, while Ian is a dragon. They were inspired by the author’s love for Lilly. While in China, the author visited a book publisher with other children’s books. The publisher shied away from publishing them because, as he said, “They do not teach the children anything.” Walker then asked himself what the best thing was to teach a child, hence the creation of these fourteen stories about love, featuring Mouse and Dragon.
