1 out of every 3 black males are more than likely to go to prison.
What has happened to black family unity?
Too many fathers are absent, immature, or jaded by the system.
Too many mothers are working two or more jobs, forced to play both parenting roles or worried more about their social status than caring for their children.
Too many sons are trying to be the "man of the house" at too early of an age or trying to get respect without earning it.
Too many daughters are allowing others to establish their self worth, allow people to rob them of their time or allow boys to create their future.
Too many grandparents are raising their grandchildren, allowing for their children to remain acting as children and not take responsibility for their actions.
As a result of broken families, poverty and a criminal mindset have cemented themselves as staples of too many black families. Something has to change
Each One, Teach One
African American Proverb that originated in the days of slavery when Africans were denied education, including learning how to read.
In his book, Reawaken, Adrian Conway takes on the challenge of addressing these issues. He offers practical advice and real-world solutions to the problems our inner-city families are facing.
Adrian doesn't pull punches. His, tell it like it is, unabashed style lays it all out for the mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters as well as the extended family members who are aiding in the destruction of black families and black communities.
It's up to you and all of us to educate and motivate the upcoming generations. Be a part of the change we so desperately need. Change starts with educating oneself. Then, educate someone else.
