The friend who is commissioned to mark the spot which shelters her remains cannot execute this trust without attesting to her exemplary virtues, and how sincerely and deeply she is lamented by her Husband and surviving friends. The second is to the Rev. John Wingfield, son of Thomas and Alicia Wingfield, and forty years Vicar of this parish. He was born Aug. 11, 1755, married Martha, daughter of Charles Gardiner and Martha Humphriss, and died Sept. 8th, In the churchyard are buried Dr. R. W. Darwin, father, and several sisters of Charles Darwin.
