Excerpt from The B.A.E. News, Vol. 23: July 1, 1930

The Civil Service Commission has announced the following examinations for positions in this Bureau: Associate Warehouse Examiner, salary to a year; Assistant Warehouse Examiner, salary to a year. Applications must be on file with the Civil Service Commission at Washington, D. C not later than July 30, but owing to the urgent need for eligibles, applications should be filed at once, as the rating of papers will begin immediately. Competitors will not be required to report for examination, but will be rated for education, training and experience and for thesis or discussion.

Junior Cotton Grade and Staple Estimator, salary’$2,000 a year. Applications for this examination will be accepted not later than July 8 Competitors will be required to answer practical questions on cotton grow ing, marketing and manufacturing and to submit a thesis.
