Of all the ports on the coast of the Continent, from the Elbe to the English Channel, one only is accessible in all weathers and at all seasons, with every wind and by vessels of every class it is the harbour of Flushing, or, in other words, that of Middelburg, which is in communication with the roadstead of Flushing, as will be shown hereafter.
