Accuracy and fluency as a Sight-reader are necessary. In fact, it may be stated positively that it is impossible for a passage to be trans posed satisfactorily that could not be read easily in the original key.
Many anecdotes and personal reminiscences of various eminent musicians, notable as extemporisers, sight: readers, and transposers, might be related bearing out the above, but they are out of place in a Primer.
