The demand has seemed to center more on the extra staple cottons this week than on the shorter lengths, with the exception of the scramble for Boston eighths for immediate delivery. Fall River, it is reported, has been a consistent buyer of extra staple cotton recently, and there has been a steady demand there again this week, though part of it was for some of the lower grades, such as low and strict low middling. New Bedford has also been buying extra staples, and also a limited quantity of short cotton.
